He is also an entrepreneur who delivers Christ-centric rhymes with a secular flair. He is motivated by Romans 1:16 ("For I am not ashamed of the gospel...") Background
Lecrae was born and raised by his single mother in Houston, Texas. Lecrae never met his father, who ended up becoming a drug addict. He used his ability to rap as way to communicate his life experiences with the world. His grandmother would not allow him to watch rap music videos on television, but he would sneak in late at night. At 11 years old, he started writing music for an R&B group formed by his neighbors. His first track, written for a neighborhood crush emulated the style of Tupac, Outkast, and 'A Tribe Called Quest'. In high school, Lecrae met a girl who invited him to a bible study, where he met Darragh, his future wife. He was surprised to find the people of the bible study were people just like him. They read the same books and listened to the same music. He said, "Their character was just different." "They were loving and that's really what drew me in." At age 19, he finally decided to live for God.

Do you know any other rappers who live for God?
